We went and as usual the presence of others made the place more satiable. It was unclear as to wether we were to seat ourselves or wait as the folks ahead were standing like they were waiting. Finally a hostess appeared and we were happily treated to an open table (place was full at 230pm). The menu was readable and clear and prices were leaning towards 5's and 10's. Considering it is one of the very few restaurants within 20 miles so what anyway. We had to wait longer then usual to even order drinks and appetizers leaving plenty of time to peruse the menu I guess. But finally a friendly waitress appeared and everything came about 20 minutes after ordering. My niece who was a former bartender gave a thumbs up to the awesome margaritas which were served in a nice cylindrical glass (8oz?) supported by a stem and base shaped like a cactus which was really cool. Beer was cold and the three entrees we ordered were worthy of the "I will return" places. The entrees came on a huge platter and I had the Nachos for 7 bucks. The bowl was fried nicely and never was soggy- breaking into nice pieces even under the meat and fixins filling. The entrees were also offered in classic style Southern Co/Northern NM red and green chile (offered in three temps) So for a place way out they deliver and grab a Colorado souvenir on the way out.

The cheeseburger on the homemade bun and the thin cut, homemade French fries equals a very great meal. You wouldn't think American in a Mexican would be a good choice but this is. You need to try this. This was the best burger and French fries I've had in a long time and we usually don't eat out much. The only thing to consider is they don't currently accept credit cards.

This is about the only restaurant to eat at in Colorado City! We sampled the quesadilla which was tasty. I ordered cheese enchiladas. There were two sauce options. The red one was more mild than the green so that was what I went with since I am a spice wimp! The enchiladas were good, but nothing I could not find at any other Mexican restaurant. My husband ordered the beef chimichanga - two tortillas filled with hamburger meat. He really liked them. The rest of our group enjoyed their meals as well.

We love this restaurant. We moved from western Kansas, lots of good Mexican food, and were so happy to find this place. Great fried tacos!!!

Not great and pricey! A burrito with meat beans and rice is $9.00 a kids meal is $6.00 and a side of fries is $4.00!! Also you are charged .50 cents for every take out order. Really?!? Even though it's one of the few places to eat we won't be going there again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
